Harris Hospital Raises Awareness on Heart Disease During American Heart Month
Newport, AR (Feb. 16, 2010) - During American Heart Month, Feb. 1-28, the American Heart Association’s “Go Red for Women” movement works to raise awareness about women’s No. 1 killer, heart disease. Each year cardiovascular diseases claim the lives of nearly half a million women-that’s almost one per minute.
The hospital will recognize Wear Red Day on Friday, February 26th. The hospital will provide red ribbons for $1.00 each for employees to show their support and a “Bake Sale” will be held with proceeds going to the Heart Association. Also, donations may be made for those who are fighting heart disease or in memory of someone who lost their fight.
If anyone is interested in participating in this campaign, please contact Sherry Bradley, Marketing Director, at 870-512-3081. We would be happy to take any donations and would love to share the bake sale items.
