Home Health Home health care is not an option for everyone. Generally, the person receiving care or treatment at home must be well enough to be cared for in the home setting.

Being ill is definitely undesirable, but being ill and away from home is even worse. Some patients at Harris Hospital may now actually go home sooner and receive the same professional, high-quality care they need in the comfort of their own home. Called "Home Health Care," the program enables a whole team of health care professionals, as needed to treat homebound patients without the daily expense of a hospital room. Patients may now have a choice about the level of care they receive and where it is provided.

What are the advantages of Home Health Care?

• Less expensive than institutional care
• Recover in a more favorable, comfortable atmosphere-your own home
• Receive such treatments as Physical Therapy and Speech Therapy without remaining in hospital
• Your medical records are maintained for future reference and use by your physician

Any Jackson County resident who is under a physician's care, has current medical needs, is homebound, or requires intermittent care may request Home Health Care services.
